Around twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the area, producing wind gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.

Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact

Locals witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

Tuesday was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk anticipated across multiple regions of both regions.
