Mohamed Salah Offers Apology to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.
What Happened
He was omitted from a European match after making accusations and stating his relationship with manager had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have been impressive in the matches since the initial controversy. Jones believes the outburst were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and on a positive run.”
