The British player made it to the third stage in three out of four Grand Slams this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions of the year due to a medical condition she has been battling over the past 10 days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to recover before starting her preparations for 2026.

These plans will involve coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together again next season.

She required blood pressure checks in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Her movement was far from freely in the final set in the match with Zhu because of back discomfort that has troubled her at times this year.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after a long gap in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

She secured 28 victories this year and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route prior to a loss in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

The athlete revealed that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
